Ulfah Arts has been commissioned by Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council to deliver an educational artistic programme for students at Key Stage three/four, leading to the production of an education resource. The workshops have been designed to enthuse learning in young people using media as a tool as well as to help them reflect on their culture, faith, identity through lessons learnt from history. This programme can be rolled out to any school across the country and will provide schools with methods and techniques to engage with their diverse student body through the exploration of faith. The workshops will be delivered across four curriculum themes i.e History and Geography, RE, English Literature and Citizenship.

Ulfah Arts started it's community media education work in November 2008 with the launch of MWMMedia - Muslim Women Media Makers. The project was funded by Media Box and Department for Children’s, Schools and Families and involved a group of 20 young women from the inner city areas of Birmingham producing four , 15 minute radio documentaries and a short Video Documentary.
None of the participants had any prior knowledge of radio production , filiming techniques or how media operates and produces news stories. All the documentaries were produced around the central theme of the project which was ' community cohesion' and the topics were chosen by the participants themselves.
MWMMedia was a huge success, and the documentaries produced in the project were broadcasted on Birmingham’s leading community radio station Unity FM and supported by Newstyle Radio, giving the participants priceless experience of working in a real radio environment and therefore giving them the enthusiasm to seek out more knowledge and perhaps a career in media.
30 Men form Telford, Shropshire, UK came together in August 2009 and recorded the Story of Miraaj with the help of Ulfah Arts. The project commissioned by NHS and Telford and Wrekin Council to find out the health issues affecting men of South Asian origin and how religion teaches us to be healthy too.
The project was a huge success and the result is here for all to enjoy.
